SERVING THE WORLD

OUR MINISTRIES

MISSIONS OF WOODLANDS

Jesus told His disciples: “‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight” (Acts 1:7-9).

The Acts 1 disciples did go. When the Holy Spirit came upon them 10 days after Jesus ascended, they set right into gathering the saints. So that by Acts 2:42, there were saints who gathered together—and then went out to gather more saints.

And where did they go?

To The Four Arenas That Christ Had Directed Them To Go:

Arena #1 – To Jerusalem:

  • They were witnesses to Jesus in Jerusalem.  We, too, are to be witnesses and testify about Jesus to those who live close to us and are like us.
  • These are people who speak the same language we do and who have the same, or at least a similar, culture as us.
  • They live in the same neighborhoods, towns, and cities as we do.

Arena #2 – To Judea:

  • They were witnesses to Jesus in Judea.  We, too, are to be witnesses and testify about Jesus to those who live farther way, but who still are like us.
  • These are people who speak the same language as us and who have the same, or at least a similar, culture as us.
  • But they live farther away—in other parts of our county, state, or even in other countries.

Arena #3 – To Samaria:

  • They were witnesses to Jesus in Samaria.  We, too, are to be witnesses and testify about Jesus to those who live near us but who are different from us.
  • These people speak a different language or, in some cases, speak English as a second language, and they have a different culture.
  • They live in the same neighborhoods, towns, and cities as we do.

Arena #4 – To the Ends of the Earth:

  • They were witnesses to Jesus to the ends of the earth.  We, too, are to be witnesses and testify about Jesus to those who live far away and who are different from us.
  • These people speak a different language, and they have a different culture.
  • They live in other countries, far away from us.

WHEEL OF CARE

Even as our world changes, the Word of God remains the same. The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) proclaims this truth here and throughout the world in mission work, disaster response, universities, seminaries and especially in our congregations. True joy is found in the Good News that God is for you. We rejoice in this. We vigorously make known the love of Christ.

LIFE GROUPS

Life groups are small groups that provide a great opportunity for individuals to connect with Jesus and each other through Bible study and shared life experiences. These groups encourage members to grow in their faith and relationship with God by studying His word and sharing their personal stories. Through small groups, members can form meaningful relationships and support one another through life’s challenges. By engaging in these small group activities, individuals can deepen their understanding of the Christian faith, their relationship with Jesus and become more connected to their community.

SUNDAY BIBLE STUDIES

Sunday morning Bible study emphasizes the importance of studying Scripture in its historical and theological context, using sound biblical interpretation principles. we believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and that studying it is essential for growing in faith and knowledge of God. Through Sunday morning Bible study, we seek to deepen our understanding of the Christian faith, apply its teachings to our lives, and grow in our relationship with God and others.
